Evidence standard

• Every commercial pick identifies an exact US model and ASIN.
• Primary manufacturer pages and manuals support product facts.
• Certification is matched to the exact system and contaminant claim or is explicitly qualified.
• Manufacturer claims remain attributed; conflicts stay visible.
• No hands-on, professional-review, or laboratory language appears without actual documented work.

Health and safety boundary

The site does not diagnose water, guarantee potability, interpret an emergency advisory, or replace a certified laboratory, water utility, health department, licensed trade, or qualified water-treatment professional. The treatment finder can end with ‘test first’ or ‘seek professional review’ and intentionally avoid a product recommendation.

Updates and removals

We track editorial review, evidence checks, retailer state, certification state, model changes, and recalls separately. A product can be downgraded, placed on watch, removed, or retired when identity, documentation, availability, claim support, or safety changes.
