Replacement signals
- The manufacturer's maximum time or capacity is reached.
- Pressure drop rises beyond the documented service point.
- Sediment, odor, color, or another treated condition returns.
- A UV lamp reaches its service interval, alarm occurs, or the quartz sleeve needs cleaning.
- A post-treatment test shows the system is no longer meeting its target.
A manual-first cartridge sequence
- Confirm exact replacement SKU and obtain required O-rings, lubricant, sanitizer, and tools specified by the manufacturer.
- Isolate, bypass if appropriate, shut down related power, and depressurize exactly as the manual directs.
- Control the weight and water in the housing; inspect and clean only with approved materials.
- Install the correct cartridge in the correct stage and direction; inspect seals and torque only as directed.
- Return to service slowly, purge air, flush, leak-check under pressure, and restore the documented valve positions.
- Record date, meter reading, pressure, part lot, and observations; verify treatment where the risk requires it.
UV ownership is more than a bulb
UV systems can require lamp replacement, sleeve cleaning, O-rings, controller/alarm checks, pretreatment maintenance, and microbial retesting. A lit lamp does not prove the required dose reached water at peak flow.
